Al registrar la historia del Movimiento de Cursillos, la tercera edición del libro Ideas Fundamentales nos indica claramente sus orígenes: “En el inicio de los Cursillos cabe reconocer la inspiración del Espíritu Santo, que fue acogida y compartida por un grupo de personas, entre ellos Eduardo Bonnín, un laico con un papel predominante.” (Nº 9)
El Espíritu sopla donde quiere y en aquel momento quiso inspirar a un grupo de personas una nueva forma de anunciar el Evangelio. Buscar los alejados de Dios y de la Iglesia y mostrarles que podrían encontrarse consigo mismos para conocerse sin disfraces, con el Señor para descubrir un amigo cercano y con el prójimo para construir juntos un mundo donde la vida valiese la pena – eso fue el fruto admirable que aquella inspiración acogida y compartida engendró.
Uno a uno, el Señor llevó para descansar en la morada eterna los tres pilares humanos que sustentaron el largo y duro trabajo de transformar dicha inspiración en una realidad que se expandió por todo el mundo como un instrumento de renovación cristiana. Hoy celebramos el aniversario de una de esas partidas: la del “laico con un papel predominante” que, con su liderazgo, llevó tantos jóvenes en los primeros tiempos y tantos adultos después, a conocer el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida, de una manera apasionante.

When registering the History of the Cursillo Movement, the third edition of the book Fundamental Ideas clearly expresses its origins: “In the origin of Cursillos can be recognized the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that was received and shared by a group of people, among them, Eduardo Bonnín, a layman with a pre-eminent leadership role”. (Nº 9)
The Spirit blows where it wishes and at that time wished to inspire a group of people a new way to announce the Gospel. Reaching the faraway from God and the Church and show them they could encounter with themselves so that they would know themselves without disguises, with God so that they would find a close friend and with the other in order to build together a world where life would be worth living – this was the admirable fruit of that inspiration received and shared produced.
One by one, God took for their eternal rest the three human columns that sustained the long and hard work of transforming that inspiration in a reality that expanded throughout the world as an instrument of Christian renewal. We celebrate today the anniversary of one of those departures: that of the “layman with a pre-eminent leadership role”, who led so many young people at the beginning, then so many adults, to learn the Way, the Truth and the Life, in a passionate manner.
